Mark Barraket visits Seven Hills High School

Staff

On Tuesday, 1 August we had the privilege of hosting Mark Barraket - R/Deputy Secretary, Education and Skills Reform, Joanne Gardiner - Director of Educational Leadership, Quakers Hill Network and the Pathways and Transition team at Seven Hills High School.

We spent the morning discussing the history of our school, showcasing the various opportunities and programs available to students, and sharing our journey towards delivering Vocational Education and Training courses. It was also a proud moment to provide a tour of the soon to be completed Vocational Innovation Centre (VIC). We see the building as representing the direction we are taking to provide different learning opportunities and pathways for our students.

Mark said, "It is evident that the staff at Seven Hills High School are committed to quality education. They proudly showcased many of their programs and I was particularly impressed with their commitment to Vocational Education and Training. I was able to tour the soon to be completed Vocational Innovation Centre, a specialist VET facility, purpose-built as part of the Vocational High Schools Program. Our Pathways and transition team, Ellen Lintjens, Robyn Pemberton and Steve Montgomery, who work closely with the school, joined the visit."

We ended the morning with a special performance by our Haka Warriors.

We were very appreciative of the visit and look forward to welcoming Mark back in the future.
