Vocational Schools Initiative
Seven Hills High School will receive industry standard training facilities and support to provide innovative curriculum pathways and options as part of a pilot program. The Vocational Schools Initiative is based on a model where vocational education and training is delivered through a combination of school implemented courses and partnerships with TAFE NSW, industry associations and private training providers.
The initiative will provide access to specialist vocational education and training facilities which will allow students to engage in learning that builds vocational skills and facilitates pathways to apprenticeships, traineeships and trade qualifications, as well as pathways to higher education.
Purpose built facilities and vocational courses will allow students to receive industry-standard training onsite and develop the skills required to pursue careers in:
Community and Health Services
Construction (Electrotechnology and Plumbing)
Transport, Logistics & Warehousing
In addition to these core areas, students may have the opportunity to incorporate relevant complementary vocational courses, in areas such as business, financial and retail services, and information, digital media and technology into their studies.
