Congratulations Christine and Kyle for their Sensory 4 Sight entry into the Microsoft AI for Good Challenge. Christine and Kyle have won the NSW state finals, beating over 600 entries to claim the title. They now proceed to the Nationals, to be held during Term 4.
As part of the Year 10 iSTEM course, students learned the basic concepts of Artificial Intelligence and then working in teams created innovative concepts of how AI could be used to make a difference in the world. Christine and Kyle’s idea was a VR headset which would allow vision impaired people to participate in gaming. Opening up avenues to connect with people. When vision impaired people are unable to access gaming, they are unable to connect with people through a common interest, by giving them access, they are able to open up social networks that were previously unavailable to them.
